'Weeds' Season 7 premiere: A hello to arms

Weeds | Weeds Season 7 Premier | Watch Weeds - "Weeds" is back for its seventh season on Showtime and in the usual fashion, the Botwin family members are up to most unusual things.

It's three years later and Nancy is out of prison and serving the remainder of her manslaughter sentence in a New York City halfway house, since Esteban was conveniently killed in prison and his minions disbanded.

The Botwin boys plus Doug are living the high life in Copenhagen, Denmark. Shane is working as a puppeteer with an older woman named Renatta, which ... of course that's what Shane is up to. In the time jump, he would be 18 now, but he's still sort of Nancy's little boy, as he doesn't even hesitate to book a ticket to the U.S. upon learning of her release.

Andy is still wildly in love with Nancy and jumps at the chance to go with Shane, though he says it's because Shane needs him. We're hoping those two crazy kids can work things out.

Silas still kinda hates his mom and has found gainful employment as a spokesmodel for a flower water beverage. Not much is made of his last-season discovery about his real father, so we hope that gets revisited as the season progresses.

Oh and Nancy's lovely sister Jill has, well, kind of kidnapped Stevie. She's been raising him while Nancy was in the pokey and has been telling him that Nancy is his aunt. Ouch.

But the big news is that whilst in prison, Nancy cozied up to her cellmate. Now that Nancy's out, said lady friend has sent her on a bit of a scavenger hunt. What was the buried treasure? A suitcase full of guns and grenades. Is Nancy an arms dealer now?

What did you think of the premiere? Excited to see what kind of shenanigans the Botwins are up to this year?

Get Cheap Airline Tickets | Cheap Tickets | Airline Cheap Ticket - Summer is here and it's time pack things and heed for your vacation or to your homes if your a student. But if you don't have tickets yet chances are cheap tickets are gone at this time. Lucky if your a air tickets sniper.

Be patient to compare quotes from several travel aggregator websites, as one might offer a lower fare.

Check Orbitz.com, Cheapflights.com or travelvelocity.com

For local flights in the US, check smaller airlines like Airtran.com or Southwest airlines for cheaper airline tickets.

Here is the nine golden rule to combat high summer airline tickets that helps you avoid potential summer travel headaches.

1. Always Be flexible - understand how airlines price their flights, on both departure time, dates and destinations, prices can vary by $100′s of dollars per person to different locations on different departure days. Late night departure usually priced low on domestic flights. Use the internet and start your research on understanding airline ticket pricing.

2. Shop and Buy early – If you book early chances are you got lower price tickets, procrastination will not lead you to expect to pay a premium especially for those convenient nonstops. Don’t Wait If You See a Good Price - good deals don’t last longer until you can negotiate with your significant other later tonight (by shopping early you’ll have a good idea what is a good price)

3. Buy Airline Tickets on Dips - Sign up for newsletter alerts on Airline tickets aggregators like Orbitz.com to let you know of price deals. Use technology Google Alerts to notify you when airline discount their flights.

5. Shop Tuesday 3pm – when most airlines have matched airfare sales initiated by at least one airline late Monday night (sales are very limited for Summer)

6. Avoid weekend shopping – airlines typically pull the few summer discounted flights they have on Thursday night leaving higher prices in the reservation systems on weekends

7. Be Prepared for Packed Summer Planes – have an air travel backup plan once you buy your tickets. Summer thunderstorms and the new 3 hour tarmac rule may have you stuck at the airport for days

8. Ease your Baggage or Pack Light - don’t get hit with $50 roundtrip first checked bag fees at the airport

9. Use Your Miles - if you are a frequent traveler use those miles or those of a friend (even offer to compensate them or even you need just a few you can buy.

Happy summer ticket hopping!

Transformer: Dark of the Moon | Reviews Transformers – Dark of the Moon (Xbox 360)

Transformers – Dark of the Moon (Xbox 360)

Last year, RipTen reviewed Transformers: War for Cybertron and we liked it very much. High Moon Studios clearly made the best Transformers game made to date. It had lush visuals and really captured the essence of what Transformers is, both in style and story. Since High Moon did such an amazing job with the franchise, it only made sense that Activision would have the studio work on this year’s Bayformers movie-tie in game, Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Although there are a few things wrong with this game, in my eyes these problems do not necessarily lie on the developer High Moon Studios. Transformers: Dark of the Moon is a very playable game, but may be more of a sleeping aide than it is an action packed robot shooter.

Like its predecessor, Dark of the Moon is a third-person shooter, allowing you to quickly switch between vehicle and robot form at any time. The game’s mechanics and weapons are all very similar to War for Cybertron and it plays exactly like it. The only major change to the mechanics are that your vehicle has a “Stealth Force” mode, giving you guns and rockets to make you less vulnerable. They had something like this in WFC, but the new movie has added this mode, so naturally it would be featured in the game as well.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon plays and feels exactly like War for Cybertron. So far, so good right? … wrong! Dark of the Moon is seriously brought down by its visuals and level design. Instead of awesome robot battles on a lush and colorful battlefield, we are set to fight on Earth. The visuals make it look like every shooter you have ever seen. A massive amount of brown mixed with dull colors, boring broken cities and plain open dirt fields. On top of that, the Transformers’ designs are just plain hideous. Maybe you like the movie designs, but in my opinion they look like a kid chugging Mountain Dew (and snorting cocaine) created them. Granted, these things are not High Moon Studios’ fault, as they were working with the movie’s set-in-stone assets.

In fact, I would like to commend them for doing what they could with what has already been established. They did an amazing job modeling the movie Transformers- the character models themselves are rich in detail. What I will put the blame on High Moon, however, is the level design. The level design is extremely boring and provides a watered-down experience. In every mission The Transformers go from point A to point B to hack satellites and drive real fast to go stop some sort of attack. It’s utterly boring.

Boss battles exist but are taken straight out the books of 10 year old games. Most of them consist of circle-strafing and blasting at your opponent until he eventually dies. I would like to be extra hard on the shitty boss battles in this game because, once again, War for Crybertron did them 100 times better! Check out this video of a boss battle in WFC (You fight Trypticon, a mother-fuckin’ Dinosoaur robot) compared to the this terrible boss battle in DotM :

You can really tell which corners are cut in order to pump a game out in one year. The quality difference between War for Cybertron and Dark of the Moon is like night and day. I know that if High Moon had more time to finish the game, it could have been a spectacular follow-up.

With the negative aspects out of the way, the single player campaign is indeedvery playable. If you’re a fan of Transformers (and can tolerate the movies and its designs) then it’s worth checking out. However, I cannot recommend this at a $60 price tag though; I finished the campaign in 4 hours, which seems to be a disgusting new trend with games. I jumped into this game blindly, since I loved High Moon’s previous Transformers game, which lasted me at least 8 hours and countless hours with the online multiplayer.

The game features the same multiplayer from War for Cybertron, which is actually a robust online experience. This game takes pretty much that same experience and pastes it into here. All of the maps consist of levels from the single player campaign, which is pretty lazy. Once again, they are all made of nasty colors and boring level design. In terms of gameplay- there are four classes, and the game allows you to customize your look, weapons, and perks. I won’t go much into detail, since if you have played WFC, you know exactly what you are getting into with this multiplayer. It’s a nice add-on value to the game, but don’t expect to see many people online in about a month.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is not necessarily a bad game at all. It’s merely disappointing. In comparison to previous Transformer movie tie-ins (not developed by High Moon), this one blows those out of the water. Unfortunately, we all know what High Moon is capable of and how seriously they take the Transformers universe. It’s sad that they were forced to pump out a game out with such little development time. If you really like the universe, it’s a nice weekend distraction and I recommend it for a rent. Take my advice; go to a Redbox, rent the game for $2 and beat it in one day. That way you can be happy with yourself for only spending $2 on a game that is only worth $20.

Here’s the rundown:

+Fun little weekend distraction

+ Multiplayer is god for what it is

- Movie-style Transformers

- Boring level design

- Four hour campaign

Transformers: Dark of the Moon was developed by High Moon Studios and published by Activision. It was released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on June 14th, 2011 in the US. The copy used for review was bought by the reviewer. Campaign was played until completion, taking around 4 hours to finish. Multiplayer was played for about 3 hours online.

World Trend Info On Gay Marriage | Gay Marriage To New York | Albany Shocks World by Bringing Gay Marriage To New York

Albany Shocks World by Bringing Gay Marriage To New York

Good Lord, how often is it the New York state legislature makes you proud?

World Trend Info On Gay Marriage | Gay Marriage To New York | Albany Shocks World by Bringing Gay Marriage To New York - The Republican-controlled state Senate voted 32-29 late Friday night to bring gay marriage to New York. The vote came after a long, messy week in which the Republicans fretted endlessly about whether Hasidic florists would be forced to provide flowers to gay weddings, but in the end, they came through and actually did something that was cutting edge and at least a little bit brave. Can't remember the last time that happened.

There was that time in 1970 - I wasn't actually here, but I've been told - that the lawmakers passed a groundbreaking abortion rights law. The bill seemed doomed to lose on a tie vote in the House until George Michaels, who represented a conservative upstate district, rose and announced, near tears, that he was voting yes. "I realize I am terminating my political career, but I cannot in good conscience sit here and allow my vote to be the one that defeats this bill," he said.

Michaels was right about his political career. It's not really likely anyone in the state Senate will have to make that kind of sacrifice. The public is way ahead of the pols on this one.

But maybe you could argue that the 2011 George Michaels was Senator Roy McDonald of Saratoga, a Republican who was the first to announce that he was changing his vote to "yes."

"Well, fuck it, I don't care what you think. I'm trying to do the right thing," he told reporters. It wasn't "Give me liberty or give me death," but it was very Albany.

Playing the part usually reserved for the Archbishop of New York was the Archbishop of New York, Timothy Dolan, who penned an opinion piece claiming that the legislature was behaving like the government of North Korea, a comparison that seemed to smack of a bit of desperation.

It's easy to overestimate the amount of political courage it required for former opponents to flip on this highly charged issue. (Queens Democrat Carl Kruger would have found it hard to maintain his anti-gay-marriage stance once it was revealed that he shares his own home with two male gynecologists and their mother.)

Wavering lawmakers were given polls showing that their constituents wanted the bill to pass. Even more important, wealthy Republican donors promised financial support for gay marriage backers.

But there's never going to be a danger that New Yorkers would overestimate the virtues of their state legislators. This is the rare, rare moment when we get to acknowledge that they actually have some. Good for them. And good for Gov. Andrew Cuomo, for making this a top priority and figuring out how to push the gay marriage bill through.

It's a big, big deal. The country is ready to acknowledge the right of gay couples to marry. For young people, it's a no-brainer. For those of us who are older, a lifetime of experience has taught us that gay Americans are our friends, our neighbors, our relatives, and maybe our children. But change has been thwarted by the structure of our politics, which give disproportionate strength to tiny slivers of voters.

We needed some stalwart lawmakers to break the jam. Who would have imagined we'd find them in Albany?

Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo | European Gigolo

Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo

Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo is the 2005 sequel to the 1999 film Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, from Happy Madison Productions. Rob Schneider returns in the role of the reluctant male prostitute Deuce Bigalow who visits his former pimp T.J. (Eddie Griffin) in Amsterdam, and then finds himself looking for a murderer who is killing the greatest "man-whores" of Europe.

Plot Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo

Gigolos in Europe are being terrorized by a serial killer. In Malibu, Deuce Bigalow's wife Kate is dead from a shark attack, and Deuce is invited by his former pimp T.J. Hicks to Amsterdam where T.J. is currently pimping. Deuce goes, as he is suspected of complicity in some dolphin-related injuries in Malibu and to take his mind off of Kate.

After T.J. shows Deuce his boat, or "float crib," the pair go to a coffee shop where they get high and bump into Heinz Hummer, a German gigolo. After leaving the coffee shop, Deuce finds Hummer dead in an alley, but thinks he is merely stoned and takes the dead gigolo to T.J.'s float crib, until T.J. gets back and immediately realizes that Hummer is dead. T.J. who plans to dump the body, but skeptical of Hummer's reputation of being well-endowed, pauses to unzip his pants and examine his genitalia. Unfortunately he is caught by a tour boat and is subsequently labeled by the media as a gay gigolo killer. T.J. escapes, but Deuce is apprehended and taken to the police station where he is interviewed by Gaspar Voorsboch, a police inspector who wants to know of T.J.'s whereabouts.

Upon his release from the police station, Deuce finds T.J. at a restaurant and recalls that he saw the real killer walking away from Hummer's body. Deuce says it was a woman, so they both figure it was a she-john, a former client of the murdered gigolo. T.J. convinces Deuce to help find the real killer by becoming a gigolo again, visiting the former clients and "rooting" out the killer. They attend a meeting of the Royal Order Of European Man Whores (an organization of male prostitutes), but fail to procure a list of the clients. Afterwards, they get the list from Antoine, the professional gigolo who appeared in the first film.

Deuce and T.J. visit the first client on the list. While Deuce distracts the woman T.J. breaks into her residence and finds a brand of lipstick which might be the kind found on all the victims. After leaving, Deuce finds Gaspar on the street and shows him the lipstick. Gaspar throws the lipstick in the trash, but mentions that the lipstick found on the victims "is a very rare one: Lavender Love #66". As Gaspar enters the police station, his niece, Eva, approaches him and gives him his lunch. Eva slaps herself three times. Deuce helps her pick up the things she dropped, and Eva explains to Deuce that she has obsessive-compulsive disorder. Fish-enthusiast Deuce sees that she has a painting of a fish, so they go to the Amsterdam aquarium together. Later, Deuce continues to investigate different women from Antoine's book, including a woman named Svetlana who was born near Chernobyl and has a very active penis for a nose, a hunchbacked woman, a woman with a tracheotomy, and a woman with gigantic ears.

While visiting Eva, Deuce is snooping around and finds evidence implicating Eva. Deuce then rushes to the police department and tells Gaspar that he thinks Eva is the man-whore killer. Gaspar is reluctant to believe this, and even drops many hints that he himself is the man-whore killer, but Deuce remains clueless.

While Gaspar has told Eva that he is the man-whore killer, Deuce rides with Gaspar to the Man-Whore Awards Ceremony under the guise of protecting the man-whores there. However, to Gaspar's surprise, Eva is chasing them on a moped, and shouting at Deuce that Gaspar is the killer. Gaspar pulls a gun on Deuce and proceeds to tell him that, once, he was a man-whore hopeful. While Gaspar was observing a demonstration on how to perform a certain sex act, one of his classmates offered to let him use his penis-enlargement pump. When the demonstration ended, Gaspar was horrified to learn that the woman who was on the receiving end of the sex act was his fiancée. Gaspar became so angry that he continued to pump until his penis exploded. He blames man-whores for the loss of his fiancée and his penis, and plans to blow them all up at their awards ceremony.

At the ceremony, Deuce evacuates the building and gets into a swordfight with Gaspar. Gaspar beats Deuce, but before he can detonate the bomb, the woman with a penis for a nose and the woman with the tracheotomy arrive at the stage and distract Gaspar. Deuce then knocks out Gaspar with a trophy, taking the bomb detonator from him. For his bravery, Deuce is given the Golden Boner award - an explicit statue - and the respect of his fellow man-whores. He shares a passionate kiss with Eva, and accidentally sets off the bomb when the statue's penis bumps the detonator button. Deuce and Eva then promptly leave the scene. The following day, Deuce and Eva come to pick up T.J., who has been released from jail, and tells them that he is entering a brand new prostitution market: gay man-whoring. They all walk off as the screen fades to black.

World's media gets stuck into Karl Stefanovic for Dalai Lama joke

Dalai Lama joke | World's media gets stuck into Karl Stefanovic for Dalai Lama joke - KARL Stefanovic's ill-fated Dalai Lama joke has become a worldwide sensation.

Critics have panned the Gold Logie winner's joke, which went down like a lead balloon with the Buddhist leader.

The joke was: "The Dalai Lama walks into a pizza shop... and says, 'Can you make me one with everything?' "

The spiritual leader was confused, but laughed when the Today show host covered his face and conceded: "I knew that wouldn't work."

The joke is on Stefanovic, whose gaffe has been a hot topic on global websites.

The New York Times headlined its story: "How Not To Tell the Dalai Lama a Joke" while London's Sun wrote: "So is Stefanovic embarrassed by the gaffe? You'd Buddha believe it."

The Seattle Post said: "This might have gone better if the Dalai Lama understood the concept of pizza toppings."

Movie Review: Green Lantern | Green Lantern

Movie Review: Green Lantern

Let's see: In the new Green Lantern movie, yellow is the color of fear. Green is the color of will.

So what is the color of tedium?

Well, green and yellow are a good start.

This is the summer's third comic-book movie but hardly the last one. I feel as though I need to post a running list of preferences, so readers will know where something ranks. Because really - most of these movies can't really be judged on any other scale except: Well, was it better than the last one?

But I don't need to do that with Green Lantern, since it's the least interesting of the summer's graphic-novel entries so far. It's a lot less involving than Thor - and shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as X-Men: First Class.

Green Lantern suffers from a terminal case of origin-osis, the disease that infects super-hero movies forced to explain a character's origin. These movies tend to putter around for most of the film just waiting for the designated protagonist to discover that hero inside of himself. Yeah, sure, he's been chosen for one reason or another - but he doesn't really believe it until it's almost too late. Almost.

By that point, however, it's far too late for the audience. In the case of Green Lantern, you get an hour and 45 minutes of foreplay and then 15 minutes of action. Sure, there are a couple of moments that threaten premature pleasure - but Martin Campbell's movie (from a script by four writers including Dawson Creek's Greg Berlanti) never threatens to pop its cork for real.

Convicted Felon Claims Involvement in Tupac Shakur Shooting

A major clue in hip-hop's greatest unsolved crime has just been revealed -- maybe.

A man has claimed he was involved in the robbery and attack of rapper Tupac Shakur in NYC on November 30, 1994 -- sparking a feud that eventually led to the still-unsolved murders of both Shakur in 1996 and fellow rapper Notorious B.I.G. in 1997.

PHOTOS: Most shocking celebrity deaths of all time

Currently serving life in prison for murder, robbery and other crimes, Dexter Isaac tells AllHipHop.com that he was paid $2,500 by James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond to ambush Shakur at Manhattan's Quad Studios. Although he was shot five times, Shakur survived that attack.

PHOTOS: Stars in legal trouble

"I want to apologize to his family [Tupac Shakur] and for the mistake I did for that sucker [Jimmy Henchman]," Isaac told AllHipHop.com from prison. "I am trying to clean it up to give [Tupac and Biggie's] mothers some closure."

The statute of limitations has now run out on that 1994 attack. Isaac says he's come forward now to clear his conscience and to prove the involvement of Rosemund, a former music mogul. He also denies Rosemund's claim that he is cooperating with the government in any investigation.

Thursday would have been Shakur's 40th birthday. The Associated Press reports that New York City Police have begun investigating Isaac's claims.

Unclaimed money: How and where to find it

Unclaimed money | How and where to find Unclaimed Money - If you're a "Good Morning America" fan, you probably already know about this week's "Show Me the Money" series on helping people find unclaimed money.

So far, it's helped a Pennsylvania woman get her share of $16 billion in unredeemed U.S. Treasury bonds. On Thursday, it helped a West Virginia woman recover $15,000 that had been left for her when her mother died.

GMA's site has a lot of good tips on finding unclaimed property, if you look past all the hyper exclamation points. There's links for searching for unredeemed savings bonds, money from banks that went belly up, and proceeds from any lost life insurance policies. Other pots of cash can be found in apartment deposits and wills of people who died without beneificiaries.

If you're wondering how to search for unclaimed money in Washington, go here to the Department of Revenue's Claim Your Cash site.

During the menopause transition years, as the body responds to the rapidly fluctuating and dropping levels of natural hormones, a number of effects may appear. Not every woman experiences bothersome levels of these effects; the range of effects and the degree to which they appear is very variable from person to person.

Effects that are due to low estrogen levels (for example vaginal atrophy and skin drying) will continue after the menopause transition years are over; however, many effects that are caused by the extreme fluctuations in hormone levels (for example hot flashes and mood changes) usually disappear or improve significantly once the perimenopause transition is completely over. All the various possible perimenopause effects are caused by an overall drop, as well as dramatic but erratic fluctuations, in the absolute levels and relative levels of estrogens and progesterone. Some of the effects, such as formication (crawling, itching, or tingling skin sensations), may be associated directly with hormone withdrawal.

Both users and non-users of hormone replacement therapy identify lack of energy as the most frequent and distressing effect.[17] Other effects can include vasomotor symptoms such as hot flashes and palpitations, psychological effects such as depression, anxiety, irritability, mood swings, memory problems and lack of concentration, and atrophic effects such as vaginal dryness and urgency of urination.

The average woman also has increasingly erratic menstrual periods, due to skipped ovulations. Typically, the timing of the flow becomes unpredictable. In addition the duration of the flow may be considerably shorter or longer than normal, and the flow itself may be significantly heavier or lighter than was previously the case, including sometimes long episodes of spotting. Early in the process it is not uncommon to have some 2-week cycles. Further into the process it is common to skip periods for months at a time, and these skipped periods may be followed by a heavier period. The number of skipped periods in a row often increases as the time of last period approaches. At the point when a woman of menopausal age has had no periods or spotting for 12 months, she is considered to be one year into post-menopause.

One way of assessing the impact on women of some of these menopause effects is the Greene Climateric Scale questionnaire.

Studies On Menopause

Cohort studies have reached mixed conclusions about medical conditions associated with the menopause. For example, a 2007 study found that menopause was associated with hot flashes; joint pain and muscle pain; and depressed mood. In the same study, it appeared that menopause was not associated with poor sleep, decreased libido, and vaginal dryness. However, in contrast to this, a 2008 study did find an association with poor sleep quality.

Google is currently working hard to compete in the world of PC operating systems, because as we know the sales market was dominated by Microsoft Corp., which until now Windows used by 90 percent of PC around the world.

What is Google Chrome OS

"The number of users of Chrome OS has doubled from last year to approximately 160 million," said Sundar Pichai, Google's senior vice president for Chrome, the PC at the Computex Show in Taipei, Taiwan.

"ChromeOS is designed from a variety of factors, but we are now fully focused only do it for notebooks. We do not have other plans (about Google Chrome OS)," Pichai said.

Google Chrome OS support

Notebook that will be wearing the Chrome OS will be sold starting in June, and made ??by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Acer Inc.. This Chrome OS as the new Goolgle products are said to be a challenger for Microsoft and Apple Inc.

However, later the number of notebook devices that use the Chrome OS is still very small on their production.

"Google has made Chrome OS center in Taiwan. In the future we hope to reach more co-distributors for other regions,"said Pichai. By this we can make any speculation that Google Chrome OS as another big job for Google on challenge Microsoft and Apple.
