(PHOTOS) Kim Kardashian Silver Paint W Cover – Will She Regret This Too?

Late last year Kim Kardashian took her clothes off for W Magazine for their “Art Issue,” and the W shoot was featured on the new episode of Kourtney and Kim Take New York.”

Kim Kardashian was seen with nothing but some text bars covering her “assets” on the cover but in the feature inside she was totally, except for one thing -silver paint.

This buxom Kardashian showed off her "things" in what was considered in a “art” context. It was the “Art Issue. ” But just before Kim Kardashian was upset that Playboy was going to release her photos from photo session she did with the men’s mag. So is she going to regret these photos too?

It’s been rumored that she apparently had regretted doing the Playboy shoot with speculation that she didn’t get enough for the photos, she was 15 pounds heavier in the pics and that she didn’t want to do them in the first place, it was all her mom’s doing. But what makes the “W” pics art vs. the Playboy pics. Couldn’t those be called “art” too? It’s it because one is for a men’s mag and one is for fashion? And she is pretty darn in W, when she has kids of her own will she tell them about her photo mag shoots. Will she be a prude or proud?

Iran hangs Iranian-Dutch woman Sahra Bahrami

Iran hangs Iranian-Dutch woman Sahra Bahrami

A Dutch-Iranian woman, arrested after taking part in anti-government protests in Iran, has been hanged for drug smuggling, Iranian officials have said.

Sahra Bahrami, 46, was jailed for a year after being arrested after joining a protest in 2009, while visiting relatives.

Dutch officials had said they were extremely concerned about her case.

Her execution brings the total number hanged in the country so far this year to 66, according to media reports.

During a search of her house, authorities found 450g of cocaine and 420g of opium, the Tehran prosecutor's office said.

"A drug trafficker named Sahra Bahrami, daughter of Ali, was hanged early on Saturday morning after she was convicted of selling and possessing drugs," the office said, according to AFP.

Shock

It added that Ms Bahrami was a member of an international drug gang who smuggled cocaine into the country using her Dutch connections.

But Ms Bahrami's daughter has been quoted as telling the New York-based rights group International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran that the drug charges were fabricated.

"She doesn't even smoke cigarettes, let alone possessing drugs. How could someone who participates in [post-]election gatherings and endangers her life, engage in such actions against her country?" she is quoted as saying.

Ms Bahrami's lawyer has expressed shock at the news.

"I am bewildered as to how my client's death sentence was issued while her security charges had not yet been reviewed," Jinoos Sharif is quoted as telling the group.

Dutch officials were denied access to her because Tehran does not recognise her dual nationality.

A Dutch foreign ministry spokesman has said that they could not yet confirm her death as they had yet to be approached by the Iranian authorities.

Government begins demolishing Oklahoma town, lone resident refuses to leave

Government begins demolishing Oklahoma town, lone resident refuses to leave

With just about every resident gone, schools closed and city government dismantled, federal officials have begun demolishing the town of Picher, Okla., officals said Friday, Jan. 28.

The federal government has ordered the demolition because of years of lead contamination.

However, there is one business owner standing in the way of some of the wrecking balls.

Gary Linderman, owner of Old Miner’s Pharmacy, said he has an obligation to the people who are left, even though there are only a small number of customers still come to his store.

"It's not time for me to leave yet," Linderman said."We are all creatures of habit and closing might throw (the people) off."

Linderman said some customers still come in to buy snacks, over-the-counter medications and beverages.

The federal government offered to buy Linderman’s business, but he refused several offers. Since the government declared Picher, located in the northeast corner of the state, a hazardous waste site in 1981, it is has successfully bought-out all of the town's 900 homes and commercial properties.

Beginning Monday, Jan. 24, crews tore down a thrift store, apartment complex, restaurant and a building used as a funeral home.

Officials said three historic building will remain for now. A former museum, auction house and church will still stand near Linderman’s property, although the pharmacy will be the only building in use.

Between 1917 and 1947, Picher was a lead- and zinc-mining hotbed. The town remained economically vibrant until the late 1960s. Today, it is part of the Tar Creek Superfund site.

Once a town of more than 14,000, Picher saw steady population declines as mining operations ceased. As of Novemeber 2010, only six occupied homes remained.

Much of the area is littered with mining sinkholes, which have caused significant dangers over the years.

The town was ordered to be closed in 2006. Citizens have been relocated to nearby communities.

Li Na to make history against Clijsters in Aussie final

Li Na to make history against Clijsters in Aussie final

Li Na will become China's first Grand Slam singles finalist when she takes on Belgian third seed Kim Clijsters at the Australian Open on Saturday.

Clijsters can add to her own remarkable story by winning a fourth Grand Slam title in Melbourne, but Li's run to the final has broken new ground for tennis.

Li is unbeaten in 11 matches this year and beat Clijsters to win in Sydney on the eve of the Australian Open.

Clijsters is going for back-to-back Slams after September's US Open win.

The pair have met six times in the past, with Clijsters leading 4-2 but having lost two of the last three, including that defeat in Sydney which came after the Belgian had raced into an early 5-0 lead before dropping the first set on a tie-break.

"I think she's a good player," said Clijsters, remembering the Sydney final. "I think we're very similar type of players, I think we have a lot of things in common on the court.

"She played extremely well to get back, and was very focused and determined and just hit some incredible shots out there."

But Li is playing down that victory as she prepares to take to the biggest stage - a Grand Slam final.

"I wish this time I will not start 5-0 down," said the ninth seed. "I think it will be a matter of who starts the best, who can get into their game quicker. I beat her last time. Doesn't mean anything here."

China's tennis chief, Sun Jinfang, has hailed Li Na as a "pioneer" on a par with basketball idol Yao Ming and champion hurdler Liu Xiang for becoming the first Asian woman to reach a Grand Slam singles final and the sport as a whole is keen to build on her success.

"Women's tennis is already one of the fastest growing sports in China thanks to the celebrity status and success of Li Na and her compatriots," said WTA chief Stacey Allaster.

However, Li, who sports a tattoo on her chest of a rose inside a heart, has been something of a rebel throughout her career, breaking away from the state system in 2008 and hiring her own coach, before replacing former coach Thomas Hogstedt with her husband, Jiang Shan, in 2010.

Asked about her recent involvement with the Chinese tennis federation, the jovial Li said: "Yesterday I got a text message from the federation boss. She say, 'Oh, well done. You come back, I pay the dinner.' I say, 'What, only the dinner?'"

Clijsters has guaranteed she will rise to number two in the rankings after the tournament, continuing her successful return to tennis after ending a spell in retirement in late 2009.

She has since picked up two US Open titles, to add to her victory at Flushing Meadows in 2005, but in seven previous Grand Slam finals the 27-year-old has yet to land a major title outside of New York.

And following her marriage to basketball player Brian Lynch and the birth of their first child, Jada, in 2008, Clijsters can already see the end of her career looming as she plans to concentrate of family life.

"I know this is probably going to be my last full season on the tour, and then we'll see," she said. "You know, it's nice that I'm in this spot to reach the final, to play for the title."

Australian Open: Li Na & Kim Clijsters win semi-finals

Australian Open

Li Na & Kim Clijsters, Australian Open: Li Na & Kim Clijsters win semi-finals

Australian Open: Li Na & Kim Clijsters win semi-finals

Li Na became the first Chinese player to reach a Grand Slam singles final with a gutsy win over world number one Caroline Wozniacki in Melbourne.

The ninth seed survived match point in the second set before coming through a tense decider to win 3-6 7-5 6-3 and set up a final against Kim Clijsters.

US Open champion Clijsters repeated her New York win over Vera Zvonareva, this time easing to a 6-3 6-3 victory.

She will now overtake the Russian for the world number two ranking.

The second of the day's semi-finals was a one-sided affair, with Clijsters dominating Zvonareva just as she had done at Flushing Meadows in September.

After the pair swapped breaks of serve at the start of the match, Clijsters moved away with a break at 4-3 following a mishit smash from Zvonareva.

The three-time US Open champion saw out the set comfortably and looked ready to take charge of the second before Zvonareva recovered from 15-40 in the opening game.

Clijsters swiftly made up for that by grabbing the break at the next opportunity, consolidating it with a love hold as Zvonareva failed to make any impact.

The Russian finally had a chance to get into the match with two break points at 4-3 down but two wayward backhands saw the opportunity slip away, and Clijsters went on to seal the win with another break after one hour and 13 minutes.

"It's nice to be in another Grand Slam final here," said the Belgian. "Obviously when you're close and having played a few semi-finals and one final, I think you kind of just tease with that feeling of maybe going the whole way.

"It's nice to be in the situation with the last two standing and trying to finish on top. You know, this is the last match. Just give everything that you have."

In the earlier semi-final, Wozniacki controlled the first set but was eventually ground down as her serve became increasingly shaky.

The 28-year-old Li, who defeated Clijsters at the Sydney International earlier this month after trailing 5-0 in the first set, is yet to be beaten this season and extended her winning run to 11 matches.

But Li will need plenty of time to recover from a two hour 35 minute contest that oscillated between the two players before finally ending with her third successive win over the world number one.

Li opened in aggressive style but Wozniacki's consistent percentage tennis gradually appeared to play on her nerves and the world number 11 handed her a 4-2 lead with a double fault in the sixth.

The ninth seed briefly threatened at 30-30 in the set's final game but could not overhaul Wozniacki's serve and miscued a second-serve return to surrender the opener with her 17th unforced error.

Li's serve was wrestled from her in dispiriting fashion in the third game of the second set as she salvaged three break points, the last with a delicate drop volley, but again conceded with a double fault.

Wozniacki seemed on the brink of victory but Li clawed back match point with a searing forehand before seizing a break point of her own to extend a see-sawing contest.

It was Wozniacki who now felt the pressure of serving to restore parity and she conceded the second set with a double fault.

The pair traded breaks in the third and fourth games of the decider, and again in the sixth and seventh games, but it was Li who held her nerve as she stole Wozniacki's serve for a third successive, and decisive, time before serving out for the win.

Her compatriots Yan Zi and Zheng Jie have won two women's doubles Grand Slam titles in the past, but Li now has the opportunity to take one of the sport's great individual prizes.

"This is good for my tennis career, of course," said Li. "Good for me, good for my team, maybe good for China tennis - I'm not sure.

"But of course this is a good experience for my whole life, because many players, they play a long time, but they never come to the final of a Grand Slam."

Wozniacki said: "Sometimes in matches or in tennis it's one ball that can change everything. I didn't get my match point. From then on, well, she was just better at the most important points. She won the most important one, which was the last one.

"Of course right now I'm sitting here and I wish I would have won the match. It's quite difficult to get through this one. I just need to get back on the practice court and keep working hard. Hopefully I'll get many more chances in the future."

Uganda gay rights activist David Kato killed

Uganda Gay Activist, Uganda gay rights activist David Kato killed

Uganda gay rights activist David Kato killed
A Ugandan gay rights campaigner who last year sued a local newspaper which outed him as homosexual has been beaten to death, activists say.

Police have confirmed the death of David Kato and say they have arrested one suspect.

Uganda's Rolling Stone newspaper published the photographs of several people it said were gay next to a headline reading "Hang them".

Homosexual acts are illegal in Uganda, with punishments of 14 years in prison.

The BBC's Joshua Mmali, in Kampala, says it is unclear whether the death is linked to the Rolling Stone campaign but police have said there is no connection between Mr Kate's activism and his death.

The police say that though they have arrested one suspect, the main suspect - who they say lived with Mr Kato - remains on the run.

An MP recently tried to increase the penalties to include the death sentence in some cases.

There has been a recent spate of "iron-bar killings" in Mukono, where Mr Kato lived, in which people have been assaulted with pieces of metal.

Witnesses have told the BBC that a man entered Mr Kato's home near Kampala, and beat him to death before leaving.

His Sexual Minorities Uganda (Smug) group said Mr Kato had been receiving death threats since his name, photograph and address were published by Rolling Stone last year.

Frank Mugisha, the group's executive director, told the BBC's Network Africa programme he was "devastated" on hearing the news from New York.

"He was killed by someone who came in his house with a hammer, meaning anyone else could be the next target."

Mr Mugisha said Mr Kato had recently been concerned about the threats he had received.

Human Rights Watch (HRW) has called for a swift investigation into his death.

"David Kato's death is a tragic loss to the human rights community," said HRW's Maria Burnett.

He had campaigned against the Anti-Homosexuality Bill, which appears to have been quietly dropped after provoking a storm of international criticism when it was mooted in 2009.
'Extra caution'

Following a complaint by Mr Kato and three others, a judge in November ordered Rolling Stone to stop publishing the photographs of people it said were homosexual, saying it contravened their right to privacy.

Several activists said they had been attacked after their photographs were published.

Mr Mugisha called on the Ugandan government to step up security for gay people.

"We're strongly asking every gay and lesbian and bisexual and transgender person in Uganda to watch out for their security … [they] should take extra caution."

Rolling Stone editor Giles Muhame told Reuters news agency he condemned the murder and that the paper had not wanted gays to be attacked.

"There has been a lot of crime, it may not be because he is gay," he said.

"We want the government to hang people who promote homosexuality, not for the public to attack them."

"Iron-bar killings" were common in Uganda when former leader Idi Amin was in power in the 1970s.

A rapid response police team has been sent to the area and several suspects have been arrested over the killings.

Veteran rocker Bob Seger planning new tour, album

Bob Seger is finally ready to go back out and show off some of his night moves.

The 65-year-old rocker and his Silver Bullet Band are hitting the road for the first time in 4 years.

Seger’s management and record company announced Thursday in a news release that the Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member will kick off a tour in March — his first since 2006-07.

Dates haven’t been announced.

The statement said fans can expect to hear classics such as "Night Moves" and "Old Time Rock & Roll" as well as songs off a forthcoming new album.

Seger hasn’t released a record of original material since 2006’s "Face The Promise."

He does appear on fellow Michigan resident Kid Rock’s new album, "Born Free." Seger plays piano on "Collide," which also features Sheryl Crow on vocals.

"Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band will once again deliver their thunderous rock and roll show to major cities across North America beginning in March," the release reads.

Success didn’t come fast for the former auto assembly line worker, who began recording in the 1960s but didn’t have a top-10 album until the mid-1970s.

After that, though, hit records and singles flowed out of him: "Still the Same," ”Against the Wind," and perhaps his best-known song, "Old Time Rock & Roll" from 1979, which became a pop culture phenomenon when Tom Cruise lip-synched to it in his underwear on the big screen in "Risky Business."

In the years since, Seger’s trademark dark hair has turned white and he is seen more often at Detroit Pistons games than on stage or in the recording studio.

But that’s about to change with the tour the release said will hit major venues.

Oakland Housing Authority Section 8

Oakland Housing Authority Section 8, In Oakland, as in many cities, more people in need to pay the cost of money are for everyone. The need has not diminished, which explains why the Oakland Housing Authority expects no less than 100,000 people to apply for Section 8 vouchers when the agency began taking applications later this month.

“We know that our families have been affected. We know there is a great need there, “Housing Authority Executive Director Eric Johnson said.

Ultimately, only a fraction – about 10,000 – will do so on the waiting list.

Over 11,000 families are currently receiving Oakland Section 8 subsidies, according to figures from the Housing Authority. A family of three, for example, whose annual income does not exceed 40,650 and may be eligible for federal program. The family would be responsible for paying 30 percent of their monthly income for rent and the right would do the rest.

This year, the agency is only accepting applications online at www.oakha.org beginning at 8 am Jan. 25.

Candidates may use any computer, including those available in branches of the Oakland Public Library-new computers and provide assistance during regular library. Help and computers will also be available 8:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the kiosks set up in the Oakland Housing Authority Western District Office, 935 Union St., in gardens and Lockwood 1327 65th Ave.

The deadline is 17 hours on 29 January.

The date or time of an application does not change the position of the person on the waiting list, “said Johnson.

Eligible applicants will be selected through a lottery system automated. Housing Authority staff will do the candidates income ‘is the maximum allowed for Section 8 housing, and then rank the candidates according to criteria and federal agencies, including the military, age, and whether the applicant is a resident Oakland disabled. The more the person meets criteria, the more he or she is classified.

The agency does not know how many good final will be available later in the process. First, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development decided to release a good number. Once the Oakland Housing Authority receives the documents, staff will check how many people on the waiting list still qualify. The whole process can take years, said Johnson.

The last time the agency has taken applications for Section 8 assistance was 2006, said Johnson. The last candidate to qualify is now reported.

“There are families still more than we have money to serve,” he said.

Jersey Shore Season 4: Confirmed! In Italy!

It's official. Jersey Shore is running it back for a fourth season and this time, the gang will take their act across the Atlantic to the motherland of Italy.

Well, it's the motherland for Vinny Guadagnino, the only authentic Italian in the bunch. The rest of the self-proclaimed guidos/ettes are kind of posers.

In any case, it's so on in Italy, where some of Vinny's relatives are even hosting the Jersey Shore crew for an authentic dinner, Guadagnino style.

Uncle Nino had better be there. Just saying.

MTV confirmed this report, and is already scouting locations in Italy, similar to the way they did it in Miami for Season 2, to find the right locales.

Two months ago, Shore executives began working on getting visas for the cast and crew. No word if Snooki's arrest record will prohibit her entry.

Of course, it's all contingent on whether the Italian government lets them in, which hopefully they will. They can also consider keeping them.

Just saying. It's a thought.

Facebook has said it has raised $1.5bn (£900m) from investors, valuing the world's most popular social networking site at about $50bn.

About $1bn of the total came from overseas clients of Goldman Sachs, the Wall Street investment bank handling the share sale.

The remaining $500m came from Goldman itself, and Russia's Digital Sky Technologies.

Facebook said it could have raised more money from the oversubscribed offer.

"Our business continues to perform well and we are pleased to be able to bolster our cash position with this new financing," said David Ebersman, Facebook's chief financial officer.

"With this investment completed, we now have greater financial flexibility to explore whatever opportunities lie ahead."

The company said that it had "no immediate plans" for the proceeds from the fundraising, but would "continue investing to build and expand its operations".

It added that it would begin filing public financial reports on 30 April next year.

The New York Times reported the Goldman and Digital Sky Technologies investment earlier this month.

At $50bn, Facebook would be worth more than eBay and Time Warner.

Bolton 0 - 4 Chelsea

Bolton   0 - 4   Chelsea

Fourth-place Chelsea boosted their title defence with an emphatic victory over Bolton at the Reebok Stadium.

Didier Drogba gave the visitors an early lead against the run of play with an audacious shot from 30 yards out.

Matt Taylor almost levelled with a bullet header but Petr Cech saved well before Florent Malouda scored at the other end from a tight angle.

Nicolas Anelka hit a third with a left-foot shot in the corner and Ramires finished it with a side-foot volley.

It was a night to forget for Bolton, who failed to draw inspiration from the tributes paid before the match to club legend Nat Lofthouse, who died aged 85 on 16 January.

The west Londoners arrived at the Reebok looking to continue an unbeaten away run against Bolton that stretched back 13 years.

Perhaps more importantly, the reigning champions were seeking to reverse a loss of form that has seen them fall behind in the Premier League title race.

With not only leaders Manchester United, but second-place Arsenal and Manchester City sitting above them in the table, and with the advantage over fifth-placed Tottenham based on goal difference only, Chelsea needed all three points to stay in touch.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle's side are without a win in 2011, but the Trotters dominated the opening exchanges.

Bulgarian midfielder Martin Petrov found Johan Elmander with a high cross in the box for the hosts' best early chance but as the Swede flicked on to Kevin Davies, the captain failed to test Blues goalkeper Cech.

Central defensive duo Branislav Ivanovic and John Terry, who was playing after suffering a rib injury, looked jittery as Coyle's men continued to threaten.

Until this match, Bolton had suffered only one home defeat all season, while Chelsea had lost five league games away this term, but the form book was torn up by Drogba.

Having nicked the ball off defender Gretar Steinsson, Malouda found the Ivorian striker whose blistering shot dipped into the top of keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen's net from around 30 yards out.

Trotters old boy Anelka then had a chance to extend the visitors' lead, but defender Zat Knight made a fine saving tackle to thwart the France international.

The home side were denied moments later when Petrov provided a teasing cross from the left which Matt Taylor met with a bullet header, but Cech acrobatically pushed his effort around the post.

But it was Chelsea who found the back of the net next, this time after Malouda, who was standing almost on the byeline, slammed the ball against the legs of Gary Cahill before slotting the rebound in from a tight angle.

It was 3-0 to the Blues just after the break, Michael Essien pulling the ball back into the area from the line and though Knight was able to prevent Drogba from getting a shot off, the ball fell to Anelka who made no mistake.

Bolton's Mark Davies entered the fray just after the hour, and the midfielder almost netted after a smart one-two with Elmander, but the advancing Cech bravely grabbed the ball off his toe.

Any hopes of a Trotters revival were ended, though, when Essien turned another decent ball into the penalty area and Brazilian midfielder Ramires hit a side-footed shot beyond Jaaskelainen to make it 4-0 - mirroring the scoreline in this fixture last season.

Mark Davies continued to probe the visitors' goal but Cech was quick to extinguish the 22-year-old's efforts and Bolton survived a late penalty appeal as Paul Robinson looked to have caught Anelka in the area, but referee Chris Hoy waved play on.

Chelsea now sit seven points behind leaders Manchester United, who have a game in hand but travel to Blackpool on Tuesday, while Bolton drop to tenth below Stoke on goal difference.

Rahm Emanuel cannot run for Chicago mayor, Ill. appeals court rules

Rahm Emanuel cannot run for Chicago mayor, Ill. appeals court rules

An Illinois appellate court ruled Monday that Rahm Emanuel cannot run for Chicago mayor, a decision that shocked the city's political establishment and triggered a rapid appeal from the former White House chief of staff to the state Supreme Court.

Since returning from Washington, Emanuel had not lived long enough in his North Side home to meet Chicago's one-year residency requirement to run for mayor, a divided three-judge panel ruled.

The decision, which followed months of unsuccessful attempts to challenge Emanuel's claim of residency, came only days before the city started early voting.

And, regardless of the outcome of Emanuel's appeal, the ruling threatened to strip his name from the ballot - potentially putting him at a severe disadvantage in the Feb. 22 election. Elections officials said that, unless a court immediately granted Emanuel's request for a stay, they would begin printing ballots without his name so that voting could begin as scheduled next week.

Judges Thomas Hoffman and Shelvin Louise Marie Hall disagreed with earlier decisions, from the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners and a Cook County judge, that found Emanuel met the criteria for residency because he was working for President Obama and he maintained a home in Chicago, renting it out to a tenant.

Hoffman and Hall wrote that the decisive factor was simple: Emanuel had not lived in Chicago for a year leading up to the election, as required by law. "A candidate . . . must have actually resided within the municipality for one year prior to the election, a qualification that the candidate unquestionably does not satisfy," the judges wrote.

After raising more than $10 million to become the frontrunner in the race, Emanuel's fate now hangs on whether the seven-member state Supreme Court will agree to hear his case.

"I have no doubt at the end we'll prevail in this effort," Emanuel said at a news conference in Chicago.

Emanuel's lawyers argued that the state's election code allows voters a temporary absence if they are conducting the "business of the United States." His opponents challenged the argument, saying that only those serving in the military could be granted an absence and that the restrictions for candidacy are stricter than for voting.

On Monday, the dissenting judge, Bertina Lampkin, argued that her colleagues on the court had erred. "An opinion of such wide-ranging import and not based on established law but, rather, on the whims of two judges, should not be allowed to stand," she wrote.

Emanuel's lawyers are expected to lean heavily on the Lampkin dissent in their appeal. At least four state supreme court justices must agree to hear the case in order for it to proceed.

Burt Odelson, the Chicago elections lawyer who filed the challenge, said he thought it was "50-50" whether the Supreme Court would do so.

"They only rarely take cases," he said. "And the appellate court decision is so lengthy and so reasoned."

Independent legal experts, meanwhile, said they believed Emanuel stands a reasonable chance of seeing Monday's decision overturned.

Calling the ruling "absolutely amazing," Dawn Clark Netsch, a former Illinois state senator and comptroller who is now professor emeritus at Northwestern Law school, said the state Supreme Court would almost certainly examine the facts in the case from scratch. "I don't think anybody really expected that result. And I don't know that it will hold up once it goes to the Illinois Supreme Court," she said.

Odelson, working with three other private attorneys, filed the challenge on behalf of two clients, a lawyer and a retired city police officer. An elections law expert who worked for George W. Bush's legal team in the contested 2000 presidential election, he said the Emanuel case is being funded entirely by the clients, who he said are neutral in the mayor's race.

"No one has a horse in this race, not [the clients], not me," Odelson said. "It's a matter of the law."

Since leaving the White House in late 2010, Emanuel has been at the front of the mayoral pack in terms of both fundraising and polling.

A Chicago Tribune survey released last weekend showed Emanuel with 44 percent of the vote, followed by former senator Carol Moseley Braun at 21 percent and former Chicago Board of Education president Gery Chico at 16 percent. Before Monday, Emanuel's advocates assumed the only question was whether he would get 50 percent of the vote or be forced into an April 5 runoff.

Late Monday, the Chicago Elections Board placed an order for 2 million ballots without Emanuel's name, with printing scheduled to begin Tuesday.

What Happened To Worldstarhiphop? Worldstarhiphop Shut Down By 50 Cent?

What happened to Worldstarhiphop? Was Worldstarhiphop shut down by 50 Cent? In the latest hip hop news, the popular website, World Star Hip Hop (WSHH), was shut down today, and initially, 50 Cent claimed that he was the person responsible.

50 Cent updated his Twitter account with the following tweet, “I don’t know why people underestimate me. I just shut down WORLDSTAR for future advertising contact thisis50.com suckers lol.”

After he sent out the message on Twitter, 50 Cent called into a radio station and tried to explain why he had issues with the site, and why he had been the reason for it getting shut down. He then changed his tune by saying, “I didn’t shut them down. If I rob a bank I wouldn’t tell you I did… [but] maybe I did. It’s up to the public to decide.”

So…which is it? Did 50 Cent shut down Worldstarhiphop? And if he didn’t, then what happened to Worldstarhiphop?

Worldstarhiphop’s owner attributes the shut down to some sort of technical difficulty, and called the same radio station and said, “We’re more or less having difficulties with the site itself as far as our server. We’re getting so much traffic we constantly have to upgrade.”

Which story do you believe?

Oprah Pregnant at 14 Revealed

Oprah pregnant at 14 — that is what Oprah herself revealed during a talk with CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight. Oprah said she got pregnant at age 14 and tried to abort the baby by drinking laundry detergent because her mother said “I would rather see a daughter of mine floating down the Cumberland River than to bring shame on this family and the indecency of an illegitimate child.” She said the baby boy died shortly after delivery.

“When the baby died, I knew that it was my second chance,” she said. “So I went back to school, and nobody knew. Because had anybody known at that time, I wouldn’t have been able to be head of student council. I wouldn’t have been able to be speaking champion in forensics. … I wouldn’t have been chosen as one of the two teenagers in the state of Tennessee to go to the White House conference on youth. None of those things would have happened, and the entire trajectory of my life would have been different.”

Oprah s Sister and Oprah’s Big Secret: Was it a Big Deal?

Oprah s Sister and Oprah’s Big Secret: Was it a Big Deal?

After a whole morning of wild anticipation, Oprah’s big secret was revealed.  Oprah Winfrey has a half-sister.

When Oprah was 9 years old, her mother, Vernita Lee, was pregnant and gave up her baby for adoption.  Oprah never knew that she had a half-sister.   In fact, she never even knew her mother was pregnant.

Forty-eight years later, the two sisters – Oprah and Patricia Lloyd - were finally reunited on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Oprah’s show revealed the secret and introduced viewers to her half-sister Patricia.  It also featured a taped interview with Oprah, Patricia and her mother Vernita, who opened up about her feelings.  Oprah’s mother didn’t have the means to care for her and chose to give her up.

Patricia tried to contact Vernit several times until finally, she listened.  Oprah commended her for not selling the story and going to the tabloids.

Do you think Oprah’s secret was a big deal to announce it on the show this way?  Should it have been kept a private family matter?

Do you think it was the best way to talk about it on her own show so that people had all the real facts?

Cuba Stops Postal Service to US ‘Until Further Notice’

Cuba stops postal service to US ‘until further notice’

Large numbers of letters and parcels have been refused entry to the US

The suspension follows the introduction of stricter security measures by the US last year after the attempted mailing of explosives from Yemen.

The Cuban postal service says large amounts of mail were refused entry and returned in the following months.

Correspondents say the cost of so many returns may have led to the choice to stop the service.

Postal service between the US and Cuba had been suspended for 42 years after Cuba’s communist revolution, and only resumed in 2009 via third countries.

President Barack Obama’s choice to renew the service was widely seen as a go towards repairing relations between the two countries.

Its suspension is likely to be interpreted as a setback to the president’s efforts at easing tension and improving people-to-people ties between Cuba and the US.

The US tightened its security on air cargo after bombs hidden in cartridges were intercepted on route from Yemen to the US in cargo planes.

Google Threatened Pay Royalties to Oracle

Google Threatened Pay Royalties to Oracle

Google have to face patent lawsuit related to Oracle’s, largest Java code’s software company in the world.

Google threatened guilty of copying Android code from Java Source Code Oracle. If the allegations are proved right then Google would have to pay royalties to Oracle.

“In the future royalties paid shall be in accordance with the number of devices equipped with the Android software 2.2. We have evidence that the Android types have been copied from the Oracle Java source code,” says founder NoSoftwarePatents, Florian Muller.

Android 2.2 itself is Google’s operating system is released for free. The distribution of the software has been embedded into several brands of smartphones, including Motorola Droid Pro, LG Optimus and Ally, as well as Samsung Galaxy series.

“All the phones are operated with the operating system (OS), Android, and has a code that we have patented,” says Mueller.

Mueller added, although it does not include code that violates the patent in the version of the device, its presence in the mobile market itself is not illegal.

In October, Oracle has filed a lawsuit directly to Google. Now Mueller admitted that Oracle believed capable of winning this lawsuit because they already have six extra copies of the file Android.

If proven guilty, not only have to pay royalties based on the number of devices that have been scattered but Google also will be forced to change the code used.

In addition to Oracle, Google is also facing a similar lawsuit from Apple and Microsoft.

Scientists Discover Gel To Prevent Virus AIDS

Scientists Learn Gel To Prevent Virus AIDS

An experimental gel managed to prevent some of the female monkeys infected with the AIDS virus, according to results of tests conducted a number of scientists who are members of the Population Council.

The test itself is conducted to mimic the path of transmission through sexual intercourse in humans. Gel is using AIDS drugs and zinc components, managed to prevent all animals tested from the HIV virus for the monkey. The result itself has been reported in the journal Public Library of Science. Gel experiments were able to provide protection of 21 female monkeys in the next 24 hours. That’s after they received a dose gel every day for two weeks.

Drugs used in the gel are so few that its safety is assured. Also the price was estimated reasonably priced.

Melissa Robbiani, one member of the Population Council, who also worked with the National Cancer Institute and several other laboratories to test the gel, hoping to soon conduct trials in humans.

The results of this study is really not the first time. Last July scientists made AIDS was surprised when a number of scientists found a similar gel containing tenofovir and Gilead AIDS drug has reduced transmission rates in women up to 39 percent for 2.5 years.

“Mean Girls 2″ Movie Review

“Mean Girls 2″ Movie Review

On January 23, 2011 ABC Family Channel premiered the new movie “Mean Girls 2, right after airing the original movie “Mean Girls” starring Lindsay Lohan. In the new sequel movie, Meaghan Martin plays the character Jo, who is a bit of a tomboy who is used to changing schools. So of course, Jo is the new girl at school this year, her last year in high school before college.

We’re introduced to the “plastics,” played by Claire Holt, Maiara Walsh and Nicole Anderson (from Disney Channel’s “JONAS L.A.”). And then we are introduced to quite the opposite character from the plastics, Abby, played by Jennifer Stone (from Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place”).

We’re excited that Tim Meadows reprises his role as Principal Duvall in the movie!

Then we are introduced to all of the different stereotypes at school, so who will Jo choose to try to fit in with?

Here is a list of actors in “Mean Girls 2,”

- Jennifer Stone as Abby Hanover
- Meaghan Martin as Jo
- Diego Gonzalez Boneta as Tyler Adams
- Maiara Walsh as Mandi DuPont
- Nicole Gale Anderson as Hope
- Claire Holt as Chastity
- Linden Ashby as Rod Mitchell
- Tim Meadows as Principal Duvall
- Rhoda Griffis as Ilene
- Tatum Etheridge as Small Jo
- Patrick Johnson as Nick
- Amber Wallace as Violet
- Colin Dennard as Elliott Gold
- Edward Bryan as Police Officer
- Mike Pniewski as Mr. Giamatti

At home, Jo finds out that her father invested and lost her college funds, and she might not be able to attend Carnegie Mellon University – her dream school. Will Jo be able to rebound from this disappointment? We hope so!

We then find out that Jennifer Stone’s character Abby has lived next door to Maiara Walsh’s character Mandi since they were kids, and the two were on speaking terms, until Abby got the best parking spot in the lot at school – which is so not okay with Mandi! Mandi and her plastics choose to get help to ruin Abby’s life.

Not only does Abby get covered in food in the school cafeteria, but then her car gets paintballed. Jo offers Abby a ride home, only to see how nice a house she lives in. Her parents realize that they need to help Abby make friends and they reckon that Jo is the best person for the role. Abby’s father makes a deal with Jo to be friends with his daughter, and in exchange Jo gets the money she needs for college.

Uh oh. The plastics realize that all the guys at school reckon Jo is hot – so will they question her to join their group, or will they try to make her life as horrible as possible? Looks like they want to invite her into the clique! Will she join them? So far that’s a negative, but we have a feeling things may change.

Jo decides to spend her time living up to her end of the bargain with Abby’s father. She keeps trying to spend time with Abby, which makes Mandi super upset. Now the plastics are after Jo!

Jo develops a crush on Tyler, played by Diego Gonzalez Boneta, who she sits next to her in class. But of course when Tyler questions Jo on a date Mandi finds out and she’s not a pleased camper. Although, it turns out that Tyler’s friend set them up and recorded their conversation during the night to play for the entire school the next day. Uh oh.

Oh. Well now we find out that Tyler is Mandi’s step brother. This isn’t going to end well.

Mandi finds out that Jo and Tyler are the new hot couple in school. So what is she going to do now to sabotage this couple so that she and her BF can get back into the number one spot? The plastics end up ruining Jo’s fathers car by putting coffee and sugar into the gas tank. Oh, it’s officially on.

So far we’re liking this movie, but it doesn’t have as many memorable moments as the original “Mean Girls” movie. We like that a lot of the stars have ties to Disney, we like recognizing actors in movies from some of our favorite TV shows and movies! The plot is predictable, making it simple to follow, and the characters are all over-the-top and extremely fascinating.
Now Mandi is throwing a huge party, and Jo decides to throw a party at the same time – uh oh!

Oh fantastic. Everyone shows up to Jo and Abby’s party and everything is going fantastic, until the pizza they get delivered is poisoned by the plastics. Don’t worry they got Chinese food instead! Yum!

Jo is trying to win Homecoming Queen. She seems to be acting more and more like the plastics she despises. She gets more well loved and starts ignoring the people who are most vital to her.

Jo finds out she was accepted to the school of her dreams, but will she have Abby’s father pay for her tuition?

Nope. Jo returns the money to Abby’s father, but Abby ends up finding out about the deal. Jo loses all of her friends, her boyfriend, and her tuition money. Now what?

Jo was set up by Mandi and it looked like Jo stole the homecoming dance charity money. Jo decides to challenge Mandi to a powder puff football game. But will anyone be on Jo’s team?

Tyler finds out that Jo gave the money back to Abby’s father. Will this change his mind about his ex-GF?

All of Jo’s ex-friends come to her house to say they want to help her with the football game, even though they haven’t forgiven her yet.

Jo and her team win the football game while Mandi and her BF get taken away by the police for stealing the charity money. Everyone then attends the Homecoming dance – fun! So will Jo be named Homecoming Queen?

Eliott gets named Homecoming King while Abby wins Homecoming Queen! Aww, so cute!

Everything works out fantastic for everyone, well, except for Mandi, who gets stuck with community service!

Did you tune in for “Mean Girls 2″? If so, be sure to let us know what your review of the movie is!
